The origin of the Voorhoeve reunions

From "Memories and Experiences" by Dini Voorhoeve - den Hartog and Henk W.A. Voorhoeve (2003):

3.6. The origin of the Voorhoeve reunions

Even in the war years 1940-1945 and also in the years thereafter, the Voorhoeves met every January 1st at noon to wish each other a good New Year. Initially this was with Gerard and Hans V. (branch BAB p. 308), who lived in the Charlotte de Bourbonlaan after the bombing of their house on the Boven Oostzeedijk. Then with father and mother on the 's Gravenweg. [This was not possible with Pau and Rein during the war, since Uncle Rein was in hiding after his escape from Vught concentration camp; and after the war there were the children of Rein’s sister Els Süverkropp-V, who died in Indonesia. (BBD p. 340) at home.] At the New Year's meetings Willem and his wife Anna of the Westersingel {BAC p.310) and ā€œlimpā€ Kees and his sister Anna from Overschie (BCA p.344) *) From 1946, there was, initially unexpectedly, a certain Hans V. from The Hague. (BAA p. 300). Possibly after father and mother (Kees and Truus) had been with us children in December 1945 on a maternity visit at the birth of his son Joris. (BAA p. 301) *) Since the name Kees appears in the V. family several times, a characteristic was added here to distinguish one Kees from another. For example, my father is "Bosche" Kees, as his parents lived in Den Bosch and a Kees from Voorburg (branch BD p. 356) is known as "Black" Kees.
